For dental practices
Keep clinical photos off-site and out of ransomware's reach
If the practice server is encrypted, fails or burns down, your patient photos shouldn't go with it. DentalCloud keeps them encrypted in the cloud, away from the practice network.
Three ways a practice loses its photos
Ransomware
Attacks on dental practices encrypt the server and every shared drive and sync folder a practice PC can reach.
Server failure
Disks fail. A NAS bought five years ago, with no tested backup, is a single point of failure.
Fire, flood and theft
A backup drive kept next to the server is lost along with it.
No shared drive. No sync folder.
Ransomware spreads through whatever a practice computer can reach: mapped drives, network shares and folders that sync to the cloud. DentalCloud adds none of these. Photos go from the browser straight to encrypted cloud storage, so an infected practice PC has no copy of your photo library to encrypt.
Where DentalCloud fits in a 3-2-1 backup plan
3
copies of your data
The original and two backups.
2
different types of storage
For example, your practice server and the cloud.
1
copy off-site
Somewhere a fire, flood or attack at the practice can't reach.
DentalCloud is the off-site copy for your clinical photographs. It doesn't back up your practice management database, X-rays or documents, so keep a separate backup for those.

Team accounts
One practice account that owns its photos. Invite dentists, nurses and hygienists, and keep everything when staff move on.
Roles and permissions
Decide who can view, upload, share or delete, from the practice owner down to a visiting locum.
Multi-location practices
Keep each site's patients separate while owners and roaming clinicians see every site they work at.
Practice management
Appointments, patient records and charting, alongside your clinical photos.
Common questions
How does DentalCloud protect photos from ransomware?
Photos are uploaded through the browser straight to encrypted cloud storage. DentalCloud adds no mapped drive or sync folder to practice computers, so ransomware that encrypts files on the practice network has no copy of your DentalCloud library to encrypt.
Does DentalCloud back up our whole practice?
No. DentalCloud covers clinical photographs. Your practice management database, X-rays and documents need their own backup.
Where are the photos stored?
In private cloud storage, encrypted with AES-256, stored redundantly in secure data centres. You can reach them from any device with a browser, even if the practice building is closed.
How much does it cost?
Free for up to 10 patients and 1 GB, with no time limit and no card needed. Paid plans start at €15 a month.
